Floaters may carry out the same responsibilities as assistant teachers throughout the center where needed or may sub a class. Floaters assist teachers develop age-appropriate lesson plans and curricula, supervise and encourage children, monitor progress and work with parents, maintain a safe and organized environment, and ensure compliance with regulations. A high school diploma, or CDA preferred. Previous experience in a daycare or preschool setting is a plus. Good communication and interpersonal skills are required, and the ability to manage a classroom and engage children in learning activities is necessary.
